Great podcast and discussion.
ReplyDeleteI was late to the New Teen Titans title, joining around the late teens/early 20s but immediately loved it. So when this mini-series of origins came out ... at a time when 'mini-series' still felt like a comic innovation ... I was all in.
And it was also a time when the internet wasn't around so you learned origins like these within the comics, sometimes a 1-2 panel recap, sometimes a big story.
So this was perfect for me. I was just in on this title. I needed background on the new characters. And Changeling was pretty new to me.
I prefer Beast Boy. (Changeling will always be a 1980 George C Scott horror movie.) And I was around Gar's age when this book came out so his thinking adolescent boy thoughts and voicing them made him the right PoV character.
Another great episode with a great guest.
Timing is everything. Glad this one hit the nostalgia buttons just right.
