ReplyDeleteI was a big fan of the dollar comic format as it gave me the biggest bang for the (literal) buck back then.
Superman Family was always a purchase if I saw it and had the funds. Also loved the dollar comic Unexpected. Kid Anj loved his horror.
World's Finest and Adventure ran neck-and-neck for third. Loved the Superman/Batman stuff (Kryptonian lycanthropy!) but also got Creeper! And Don Newton on Shazam! And Hawkman!
In particular, Newton's take on the Marvel is wonderful. I wish they'd collect that!
I also loved Adventure because you got Flash, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, and Deadman (as well as some JSA). Tremendous.
Not much to say about these particular stories other than the virus one is fascinating given current times. Odd that strays needed to be brought into Metropolis to add to the spread. And the sun is Superman's trash can.
I love the Superman / The Sun relationship in this era.
