  1. I think you lost me at 'this is A Doom 2099, not THE Doom 2099'. Seems like a miss.
It is interesting to me that a line-wide event centered around Dr. Doom ruling the world has seemed to come and go with little fanfare from anyone. I'm a DC guy but there has been no buzz about this ... pity.
And I'll agree, the Panosian cover is pretty slick. His work has really shined in recent years.

    1. Yes, I suppose that is the way with BIG events these days. There are so many of them, and most of them don’t turn out to be as BIG as promised.
In terms of this specific issue, that is one of the risks you run with a one-off during a BIG event. There’s just not a lot significant that can be done in an issue like that.

  2. The Two Doctors (Doom) Special

One thing that Doctor Who has done is the non-intuitive idea that whenever two or more Doctors meet via time travel, they find their personalities mutually grating. (As I've gotten older, I've had the experience of running across old posts of mine with a moment of wondering:"What's this young idiot going to say?") Doctor Doom seems to have this reaction in spades. I think this is partly the same personality faults: assumption of authority and unwillingness to explain high among them, but may have an added factor from his uses of Doombots; replicas that act with full autonomy unless in the presence of another Doom. Our Doctor is too used to other Dooms deferring to him to have practiced the compromise.

    1. Oh my, how did I not make the Doctor Who comparison? #PodcasterFail

Yes, among all of Doom's positive personality traits ;0) the inability to compromise sometimes ... occasionally ... does him more harm than good.
