"Costume, Costume -- Who's Got the Costume," by Elliot S! Maggin, with art by Curt Swan & Bob Oksner.

  1. Talk about a great ride into work! I get to listen to you and Martin talk Maggin Superman! Best gridlock ever!
Seriously, I have seen this cover but never read the bonkers story and I love it, especially the tacked on 'why the heck did this happen anyways' ending.

As for the Time Trapper, he was a corrupt Controller for a long time. I believe it was only in the mini-series Legionnaires Three that he became the living embodiment of Entropy, a sort of cosmic role he played for the longest time.
Subsequently, other people have claimed the title always with the same role to play. So Cosmic Boy or Controller or Glorith or (now) Doomsday, there always needs to be a Time Trapper.
Lastly, I am a huge Legion fan ... but when they made Cosmic Boy the Time Trapper, that was a sort of true 'jump off' point. I quit reading the Legion for (wait for it) TEN YEARS! I was lured back in by Geoff Johns and Mark Waid.
Thanks for a great podcast! Always good to hear Martin talking about Bronze Age Superman.

    1. Totally agree that is good to hear Martin talk Bronze Age Superman.

And anything we can do to make the Boston commute just a tad less terrible ... I feel like we've done a good thing.
