Shortbox Showcase #71 - The Superman Episode!
Em and Professor Alan talk about what's been going on in the world(s) of the Man of Steel the last little while. They talk briefly about the CW Superman & Lois Show, the Jon Kent Superman comic, and a very bizarre Superman manga. Then they talk for a much longer time about the My Adventures with Superman animated series. Is there really a version of Jimmy Olsen that Em will admit to liking?

I've never been a regular listener to the Shortbox Showcase, but, when I heard a rumor that, in this episode, Em had some complimentary things to say about Jimmy Olsen, I *had* to listen. I really enjoyed this one, not just for the Jimmy Olsen love, but for the couple of call-outs I received, even though, again, I'm not a regular listener, or commenter on this show. Like both of you, I really enjoyed "The Adventures of Superman", and, yes, I did guess, early on, that "the general" was General Lane (kind of obvious when they introduced a character known only as "the general" without a name, it must be a general we know, with some connection to Superman and/or a close character to him).
ReplyDeleteI really liked the development of all the characters -- Lois, Jimmy, Perry, even Steve Lombard -- and thought they were well-made, and I liked the fact that Jor-El, whose connection to him is still unknown to Superman, doesn't speak English. I'm less a fan of the anime style, but it does seem to work in this case, and it's growing on me a bit. I'm very much looking forward to Season 2.
Thanks for this most enjoyable episode of youe Shortbox Showcase.
But you are a super-expert, and a good friend!
DeleteThanks for listening. Appreciated.
