  1. Your fears regarding the repetitive nature of Von Hammer's adventures are founded, and reading through the Archive (or Showcase) can seem redundant.

    But I agree with you that the quality of each story, just about every single one written by Kanigher, is SO high that taken in easily digested 8-page installments (which is how Ace stories were published for a good amount of time) they remain a treat - even after Kubert left the feature - there's no way the quality would dip with the likes of Frank Thorne, John Severin & Dan Spiegle taking on the art chores!

    Entertaining listen, as always, Alan - great job!
