Another interesting episode. A few comments.
ReplyDeleteI don't have any Virgin Comics in my collection. I used to see them in all the cheap bins but they even seem to have faded from that fate. And I didn't read any of Carey's Vertigo stuff although buddies liked Lucifer for sure.
Interesting comment you made about 4th issues in 5 issue minis. I look at these issues to be critical. At the end of penultimate issues, I have to feel that the book is in a place where it can be successfully concluded in the finale. So often these 'next to last' issues don't get there meaning the last issue is a sprint. Certainly this issue seems muddled enough to not seem like it reached there.
Lastly, laughed at Luke talking about well-dressed comic visits. One side of my family uses a particular funeral home a few blocks down from an excellent comic shop one state over. After every wake, I head to that store to rummage. They must say 'who is that guy in the black suit who comes in twice a year??'
I don't think I've ever dressed up to bin dive. I'll put that on my list of things to do!
